Privacy notice

How ETE Skin uses the details you share through this website, and the choices you have. Last updated October 2026.

ETE Skin is a corrective skincare clinic in Manchester. We’re the “controller” of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it’s used and are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
This notice covers this website and the enquiries you send us by email, phone, WhatsApp or the chat assistant. If you go ahead with a consultation, we’ll explain at the time how we look after your client and treatment records.

Your messages to us may include details about your skin or health. Please only share what you’re comfortable with — we’ll go through the rest together at your consultation.
If you book online or buy a gift voucher, our booking system (Phorest) collects the details you enter there, such as your name, contact details, appointment or voucher details.
If you use the chat assistant on our website, we receive the messages you send and any contact details you choose to share.
If you email, call or WhatsApp us, we receive your contact details and whatever you send us.
This website doesn’t have any forms of its own, and we don’t take payments or card details through it.

To reply to your enquiry, arrange your consultation and keep in touch about your appointment. Our legal basis is that you’ve asked us to do this before booking with us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
To keep a record of our conversations so we can look after you properly and answer any questions later. This is in our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
Details about your skin or health are “special category” information. We only use them with your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to share them, and only to advise you and plan your treatment (Article 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
We won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you’ve asked us to.

Only ETE Skin. We never sell your information or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
A few services handle information for us: our email provider, which holds our inbox; Netlify, which hosts this website and processes technical details such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure; Phorest, which runs our online booking, gift vouchers and appointment records; Backly, which runs the chat assistant on this website; and WhatsApp, if you message us there.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, for example in the US. Where that’s the case, your information is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
We’d only share your information with anyone else if the law requires us to.

This website itself doesn’t set cookies or use analytics or other tracking.
The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies; see Google’s privacy policy.
The chat assistant is provided by Backly. So that it opens straight away, it loads in the background once a page has finished loading, and Backly then receives your IP address and basic browser details. It doesn’t set cookies, and nothing you type is sent until you use the chat. Backly’s own privacy terms apply to the chat.
Online booking and buying a gift voucher open Phorest’s pages, where Phorest’s privacy policy applies.
Our fonts load from Google Fonts. To show them, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and basic browser details. Google doesn’t set cookies for this; see Google’s privacy policy.
Our pages link to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp. Nothing loads from those sites until you click a link, and once you’re there their own privacy policies apply.

If you don’t go on to book, we delete your enquiry within 12 months.
If you become a client, your enquiry is kept with your client records for as long as we need them to look after you and to meet our insurance and legal requirements. After that, we delete them securely.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, limit or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
